Live Events
Skyecam is a Los Angeles aerial cinematography studio that operates drones at live events. The work below covers concerts, music festivals, live sports and action sports.
Concerts
For arena and stadium concerts, Skyecam builds drone coverage around the stage and the crowd. That has meant live stream drone coverage for Karol G’s KG0516 virtual concert, multiple drone angles and flying LED lights for Post Malone’s 2020 Billboard Music Awards performance, aerial visuals for Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour Netflix release, and FPV aerial cinematography for Hilary Duff’s Lucky Me Tour at the Kia Forum.
Music Festivals
Festivals are large and busy, so the drone plan has to cover multiple stages while respecting crowd safety and airspace. Skyecam has operated live stream and FPV drone coverage for Rolling Loud at SoFi Stadium, live streaming drone coverage for Lana Del Rey at Hangout Fest across the three day beach festival, and aerial work at Nocturnal Wonderland.
Live Sports
For live sports, the drone is an extra camera that has to keep up with the action and stay out of the way. Skyecam covered the Canelo Alvarez versus Gennady Golovkin second fight, and the aerial feed can be handed directly to a broadcast truck for use in the live show.
Action Sports
FPV drones are the right tool when a camera has to move with an athlete. Skyecam uses that approach for action sports, following the line of travel and staying close to the action. The Cirque du Soleil KOOZA aerial piece for the Santa Monica grand opening is an example of flying around live performers with that same precision.
