Music Video - Drone Light

Drone light creates special effects in the recent “Welshly Arms, Sanctuary” music video by Republic Records & Universal Music Group. See how we use our LED Drone Light for special effects from camera tricks and creative film shots. Our new LED Light Drone System projects 1000watts with 130,000 lumens of light, bright enough that we used multiple drones to capture stunning visual lighting effects at night and casting shadows that move in our aerial cinematography.

The music video, directed by Dan Henry, show Welshly Arms playing amidst images of couples and small groups of people convening for support and comfort. “They’re finding their safe place, their sanctuary in each other,”  but in the director’s twist a drone floats above one of the scenarios, taunting a trio of youths hanging out in what looks like a post-apocalyptic desert.

“There’s an uncertainty in this ominous light, or whatever it is, about what you’re unsure of or running from, feeling unsafe,” Gets explains. “Then you get to the end with this young dude who’s flicking off the drone, saying, ‘Screw you! I’m not scared of you anymore!’ That caught me by surprise, but it’s nice to be surprised by something — and it’s always interesting to see how someone takes the songs and interprets them for themselves, like (Henry) did.” Los Angeles-based director Daniel Henry explores a world filled with people in search of safety in this timely video for American rock band Welshly Arms. Great work by cinematographer Hayden Mason and LED LIGHT Drone operator JJ Trinidad.
