Skyecam drone specialist, JJ Trinidad & Andrew Virdee capture some stunning aerial shots on the Netflix series “Bad Thoughts” working with directors Jeremy Konner, Rami Hachache and DP Nicholas Wiesnetin. The drone cinematography is quite captivating says “Nicholas Wiesnet”. They help elevate the sketches beyond just “gross-comedy sketch” into something more cinematic. They add a layer of production quality that supports Segura’s tone: part shock, part satire, part surreal.
In sketches where the drone shot is used thoughtfully — as an atmospheric opener, or to contrast with what follows — they add a lot. In sketches that lean heavily on shock or gross-out without much build, those shots sometimes feel like extra decoration. This is the art of aerial cinematography.
Bad Thoughts is a provocative step for Segura into a genre that many comedians find risky: sketch comedy that doesn’t soften the edges.
